Saving Money / Meeting Budgets

Saving money and meeting budgets is an important part of wedding planning. However, there are some things that are not worth bargaining on. Firstly, we have to figure out what are our priorities while planning for a wedding. Do we value Photography more, or do we care more about what kind of food is there for the guests? Of course, we can't devalue one thing over the other, but it is important to know which things prioritize over others. For example, limiting the types of foods from ten to nine, may not be the biggest deal. But cutting down on photography coverage hours, can result in lost memories forever. Second, for a lot of Indian Weddings, it would cut down the prices by as much as 50% to do pre-wedding events together with your partner. Instead of having two different Jago's, Haldi, etc events; putting them together saves on coverage costs from Photo + Video teams, venue prices, and decoration costs etc. This one decision will play a huge part in saving some money for your wedding week. Additionally, having more of the close family together will mean that your events will be more lively, fun and energetic. IT WILL BE A PARTY!

Lastly, Weddings are no joke; especially the Indian ones. Sometimes it can cost a fortune just to get married. However it is a one time thing (for most people), we want to make sure that we enjoy every little bit of the wedding week. We personally have attended so many weddings where there is more work for the family than enjoyment; and they are the ones paying for it all! I'd highly recommend leaving some room in budget to make sure the wedding week is not just fun for the guests, but the planning family as well.
